Cursed to sleep for hundred years by the innocent pricking of a finger. Only true love’s kiss can wake her…. You know the story, right? But what about the fairy who cast the spell? Can she ever make amends? And what happens when Beauty wakes up, gets married, has kids and moves into an enchanted castle with her flesh-eating ogre of a mother-in-law? It’s Sleeping Beauty but not as you know it!
Drawn from Charles Perrault’s original story, Rufus Norris’ irreverent adaptation skilfully mixes the mythic with the macabre. Performed by Oundle School’s endlessly talented 3rd – U6th form with a rich mix of puppetry, music and ensemble movement this production will enthrall and surprise adults and children alike.
